The route2work group has this week announced the appointment of Chris Peel as CEO of The Training Room. Chris will be responsible for leading the business through its next phase of growth, capitalising on a strengthening market position and responding to the skills shortages that exist within key sectors of the U.K. economy.

Through its innovative approach, The Training Room’s focus is on creating routes to work and connecting people with opportunities, providing training and careers support to individuals, helping to provide ‘industry-ready’ professionals and supporting its graduates into work-based opportunities within its network of corporate partners.

Chris is extremely well placed to lead the business moving forward, bringing a strong track-record of successfully running businesses within the skills, training and employability marketplace. Between 2012 – 2014, Chris ran Rehab Jobfit, a provider of employment services that helped over 30,000 unemployed individuals move into work. In early 2015, he launched Interserve Learning & Employment, a business he ran as MD until last summer. During his tenure, he established this business as one of the largest providers of apprenticeships and adult education operating across the U.K. today.

On announcing the appointment, route2work Group CEO Andrew Powell said: “This is a very exciting time for The Training Room, appointing someone of Chris’ calibre demonstrates the Board and the shareholders continued commitment to invest in the future of the business and to support our social impact intervention strategies.

Our aim is to positively impact more lives through our educational and career-based services, and we are delighted to welcome Chris on board to lead the next phase of our growth agenda”.

Chris Peel commented: “The track record, innovation in delivery and wide internal talent pool that exists within the business today creates the right ingredients to be able to continue to positively progress the business and meet the ever-growing demand from employers for highly skilled and qualified recruits in our target sectors”.
